Machined Prototypes

Lockrey specializes in turn-key products as well as machined and fabricated prototypes, producing short to mid-sized production runs for nearly any industry. Explore how Lockrey can use our machined prototyping skills to your advantage and learn more about our services:

Machined Prototyping Materials

One of the first questions to ask your machine prototyping service provider concerns available fabrication materials. At Lockrey, we can produce machined prototypes using a variety of different materials, depending on our customers’ needs and requirements. For machining processes, we typically use alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel, Hastelloy, titanium, and other super alloys, along with copper base metals and plastics.

In other areas of fabrication and sheet metal, our team can work with aluminum, stainless steel and all alloys of carbon steel, brass and copper. Our niche is 20g to ¼”.

As the experts in machining and fabrication, our team is also available to consult on your project design, offering insights regarding which material would work best for your projects.

Machined Prototype Engineering and Design Process

Our engineering and design process for machined prototypes are highly efficient, meeting the same ISO 9001:2015 standard that our other departments exemplify. In addition to accredited service, Lockrey also presents significant supply chain simplification through the use of the multiple technologies we invest in. Not only can prototyped parts be lasered, machined, formed, and welded in-house, but we also offer powder coating done on-site, making Lockrey a true one-stop shop. Moreover, we do not charge for tooling, differentiating our company from several competing machined prototype service providers.

Rapid Machined Prototypes

When it comes to lead times, our quotes on simple parts are typically 24 hrs, but for more complex services, like machined prototypes, a typical lead time is between 3-7 days. Generally, lead times do vary due to the complexity of each part, but at Lockrey, we understand that our customers are sometimes working under strict deadlines, which is why we do offer the option of expedited service. If rapid machined prototypes are what you are looking for, look no further than our company!
